1941 a Book Review

Two words can easy sum up this work, poorly written. I was excited to read this account of December 1941. As a student of the Pacific conflict of WWII I have to say that I had set high expectations for this book. Unfortunately this book did not live up to any of them. Poorly written, edited and proofed, I feel the publisher wanted to get this book out in time for the anniversary of Pearl Harbor. The unfortunate issue with this is that this event in our country’s history deserves more and the publisher should have taken time to do it right. I think that the premise of the book is interesting and engaging, a day-by-day account of the first month we were in the war. The facts of the days seem sound; unfortunately the editing and writing are pandering to one side of the political spectrum. History should be told from an objective and neutral voice. I cannot recommend this book. Free book received from the publishers in exchange for the review via the Booksneeze program.
