If you are a leader or have ever had the desire to be one this book is a must read. Drawing from the careers of people we have all seen in the mainstream media Tim Irwin gives us all a reality check. He gives great insight into where the careers of these people went bad. This insight provides the opportunity for us all to examine our own careers whatever stage they are in and see if we are headed in the wrong direction. Greed and misguided loyalty seem to be at the heart of the down falls examined here. This is in no way a do this and succeed book, this is more of a, don’t do this and you’ll be able to live a better more fulfilling life book. It is a breath of fresh air not to have a get rich scheme hidden in the cover but rather an honest look at mistakes made by some of the most powerful men in the country. “Derailed” is a must read if you hold or hope to hold a position of leadership no matter what the organization you chose to serve, secular or sacred.
